Achieve your Goals !

Pilates By Physiotherapy celebrates its 12th birthday this month and I continue to be amazed by the huge variety of benefits we see clients gain from practicing Pilates with us.

We have 29 clients who have been with us for 10 years or more. I’m sure you know who you are…an amazing achievement. Thank you for your determination and commitment. For me you bring a whole new meaning to continuity of care. Rachel Smith and Rachael Bullock have moved from being clients to staff in that time!!

One of the reasons I chose to be a Physiotherapist was that traditionally we spent lots of time with our patients building a relationship that enables us to help them achieve their best outcome.  As a young Physiotherapist I was in a very privileged position seeing patients 3 times a week as out patients or seeing them on Intensive care to moving to the ward to leaving hospital or seeing them day one of their hip replacement to coming to the hydrotherapy pool for six weeks after discharge !!  Experiencing that progression is my motivation for going to work each day !  Seeing how Pilates supports our bodies and minds through the challenges of life keeps all of us engaged in delivering our best Pilates teaching.

This summer has seen many clients achieve all sorts of goals from running 65 miles in 24 hours as part of Endure 24 to kneeling following a total knee replacement. As Physios we enjoy sharing each and every one of your achievements including couch to 5 km, first 10 km race or walking upstairs without a stick. Several clients have returned to the studio after surgery in recent months and we all feel it is a privilege to be part of your lives. Seeing the effort you all put into your hour on the mat each week makes teaching Pilates an absolute pleasure for us. Working with you every week enables us to target our classes to ensure you gain the maximum benefits of Pilates for both your mind and body.

Several clients are doing the Great North Run and Macmillan Mighty Hikes this month.

Please click the links below if you would like to hear more about their stories

Katie Tuesday 7.30 pm class

Elspeth Friday 10.45 am class

Helen Monday 9.30 am class

Charlotte Monday 5.45 pm

I hope you have all managed to make the most of your plans over the summer, using zoom and the videos or swapping sessions when you were not able to attend your regular class. Please try to book your sessions at the start of the month as then we can help other clients who are trying to swap sessions. Please remember that if you are not booked in 24 hours before the class we may well take your space for someone wanting to swap into the class.

All the classes are now full except for the new class starting on a Monday at 12.30 pm with Rachel.

I hope you and your families have had a good summer. At Pilates By Physiotherapy we’ve had weddings, exams, children leaving home and some returning home, children starting school, maternity leave ending and our share of ill health and sadness too. I’m confident that with regular practice Pilates keeps you strong and balanced in both mind and body to enable you to deal with whatever challenges you are facing.

Please do have a look at the links and support our clients in any way you can

Thanks

Anne
